At September 15th’s panel discussion on STEM Teacher Leadership Development: Best Practices and Current Challenges, the launch of a new online resource funded by the U.S. Department of Education was highlighted.
The Building STEM Teacher Leadership website was developed through the contributions of about 50 experts and practitioners over the 2015-16 school year, with support from SRI International and Policy Studies Associates.
The website provides an overview of topics related to building and supporting STEM teacher leadership in K-12 schools. It is organized in a user-friendly Frequently Asked Questions format, with options to access information by topic or by your role. The website addresses a range of topics, such as models of STEM teacher leadership, district and administrator support, evaluation of programs, STEM teacher leader networks, and the role of teacher preparation programs.
