Requirements
- Districts: All Bay Area. Priority to Ohlone College feeder schools.
- Position: Middle, High School and Community College educators
- Priority will be given to ELL teachers and Ohlone College feeder schools
- Location: In-person, South and East Bay
Diver into AI and computer science during this week-long professional learning experience designed specifically for ELL educators – no CS background required! Participants will gain foundational AI and CS knowledge while learning practical strategies to support communication and professional skills development for English Language Learners in STEM classrooms.
Participants will:
- Explore artificial intelligence in context: Build a foundational understanding of AI, its concepts, tool and applications while emphasizing ethical use and strategies for workforce readiness.
- Learn the language of tech: Delve into the specialized vocabulary and everyday language used in the tech industry, and understand how communication drives innovation.
- Engage with experts: Engage with professionals in the field to learn about the skills, career opportunities, and pathways available to students in today’s tech-driven world.
- Equip students for the future: Return with a deeper understanding of the connections between science, language, and technology, and inspire students to explore new academic and career opportunities.
