- Position: Middle and High School educators of all subject areas
- Priority will be given to teachers from underserved schools
- Location: In-person, mostly around Stanislaus County
Gain an inside look at the circular bioeconomy and the innovative solutions shaping the future of Stanislaus County. Explore what the bioeconomy is, why it matters, and how biological resources drive innovation, sustainability and local economic growth.
Participants will examine the bioeconomy through the lens of:
- Regenerative agriculture & soil health: Learn how composing, soil health and regenerative farming practices support sustainable food systems and climate resilience.
- Biotechnology, industrial biomanufacturing and biofuels: Discover how biotechnology and biological processes, from microbes to enzymes, are used to produce fuels, materials and chemical that replace fossil-based products.
- Bio-based consumer products: Examine how renewable biological materials can move from the lab to marketplace, showing up in everyday products.
- Good, local career pathways: Hear directly from professionals about diverse career journeys, required skills and local secondary and post-secondary pathways into this growing sector.
